Importing statements
Statements are untrusted input. They arrive in many formats, sometimes incomplete, sometimes overlapping. The import reads them, shows you what it found and changes nothing until you confirm it.
Accounts first
Statements are imported into one investment account at a time. Create an account for each brokerage relationship the client has, with its name, broker, currency and account type, from the client's Portfolios tab or the Imports screen.
Upload
An import takes up to five files of up to 5 MB each: PDF, CSV, XLSX or images. Before anything is stored, each file's contents are checked against its declared type; a web page renamed .pdf is refused.
Exports from Freedom24, Trading 212, Interactive Brokers (Flex), DEGIRO, eToro, Revolut, Trade Republic, Freetrade, XTB, Saxo, Schwab, Swissquote and Avanza are read by format-specific parsers. Other statements go through an extraction model, and the import says which path it took. One upload counts as one import towards the plan's monthly limit.
Review and confirm
When processing finishes, the import opens for review. Positions and transactions are confirmed separately.
- Positions. Each extracted holding is shown with its quantity and average cost, which you can correct before confirming. A row that cannot be matched to an instrument is listed as not imported, with the reason, rather than dropped silently.
- Transactions. Trades, dividends, fees and the client's own deposits and withdrawals. Transactions already in the ledger are counted as duplicates and not added again; the review shows how many were found.
Until you confirm, the client's portfolio is unchanged. A later import never silently overwrites what was confirmed.
Import status
The Imports screen lists every upload across the firm with its client, account, files and status, from processing to ready for review to confirmed. A failed import names the reason. The Overview highlights accounts that need an adviser's attention, such as unconfirmed positions.
How long files are kept
Original statement files are kept for seven days so the extraction can be checked against them, and are then purged. The confirmed holdings and transactions remain. While a file is retained it can be opened from the client's Documents tab; each download is recorded in the audit history.
