Your clients' financial lives are complex.
Understanding them shouldn't be.

Advisers increasingly work with fragmented portfolios: several brokerage accounts, several currencies, funds domiciled in one country and held from another, clients who live in one place and plan to retire in a second.

Borderfolio brings those elements into one structured review: the statements come in, the holdings are consolidated and priced, the international considerations are set out with their assumptions, and the review goes out under your firm's name.

From the first statement to the signed review.

Three steps, each under the adviser's control. Nothing is written to a client's holdings until it has been reviewed and confirmed.

    Bring fragmented investments into focus.

Upload supported brokerage statements, review the extracted positions and transactions, and consolidate the accounts into one client portfolio.

The workspace

Built around the way advisers work.

A working tool, not a reporting template: clients, imports, consolidated value, allocation, international findings and the reports themselves, in one place your whole firm can use.

  1. i
    Client management

Clients, their accounts and cross-border profiles, kept apart by organisation.

  2. ii
    Consolidated value

In the client's base currency, with the rates disclosed. Unknown stays unknown.

  3. iii
    Allocation

By position, trading currency and fund domicile.

  4. iv
    Import status

Processing, ready to review, confirmed — with duplicate counts.

  5. v
    International insights

Findings with assumptions, limitations and a confidence label.

  6. vi
    Reports

A library of frozen snapshots, downloadable at any time.

Cross-border intelligence

Investment intelligence without borders.

Many clients now hold US funds through a European broker, live in one country and plan to retire in another. Borderfolio sets out the supported considerations the way a research desk would: each figure with its source, the assumption it rests on, and a clear line between what is modelled and what is not.

  • Fund domicile is read from the ISIN, never guessed from the exchange.
  • Withholding uses the residence's treaty rate, or the statutory rate when no W-8BEN is on file.
  • Unsupported residences and US-person clients are reported as not modelled — not approximated.

The client is treated as a non-resident alien for US purposes. Only US-source withholding is modelled; distributions from other source countries are reported as unmodelled. Estate-tax treaties are not applied. A planned move is re-run as a second residence for comparison; unsupported destinations are named as such.

Reports

Reports worthy of the advice behind them.

Each review is rendered from a snapshot stored at generation, under your firm's name, with your commentary set apart from the engine's analysis. It reads like an investment publication, and it never changes after the next statement arrives.

Security and trust

Built for other people's financial documents.

Advisers act for several clients at once and upload statements that are not their own. The workspace is designed around that fact. What follows describes the product as built — not a certification.

Read the full description
Workspace isolation
Every request first resolves the adviser's membership in the organisation. Client, account and report identifiers are loaded scoped to that organisation; an identifier that belongs to another firm reads as not found.
Access controls
Owners manage settings, branding, members and permanent deletions; advisers work with clients, imports, analytics and reports. Authorisation is enforced on the server for every request.
Two-factor authentication
Time-based one-time codes with single-use recovery codes. A firm can require it for all members; a member without it cannot open the workspace until enrolled.
Document handling
File contents are checked against the declared type before anything is stored. Original statements are kept for seven days for review, then purged; confirmed data and report snapshots remain. There are no public document links.
Audit history
Client changes, imports, confirmations, document downloads, report generation and membership changes are recorded with the acting adviser and visible to owners.

Who it is for

Designed for firms where every client is known by name.

  • Independent financial advisers

One adviser, a book of clients, statements from half a dozen brokers. Import, review, consolidate and present without building a spreadsheet for each.

  • Boutique wealth management firms

Several advisers sharing one workspace: organisation-level settings, members with roles, firm branding on every report, an audit trail for the compliance file.

  • Cross-border investment advisers

Clients who hold US funds from Europe, live in the Gulf, or plan a move: domicile, withholding and residence considerations set out with their assumptions, ready for discussion or referral.

  • Small advisory practices

A practice that wants the review process itself to be consistent — the same structure, sources and limitations in every document that leaves the office.

Questions advisers ask

Plain answers.

Who is Borderfolio for Advisors for?

Independent financial advisers, boutique wealth management firms and small advisory practices — including those whose clients hold accounts in several countries, live abroad or plan to relocate. It is a working tool for the adviser, not a client portal.

Which brokers and statement formats are supported?

PDF, CSV, XLSX and image statements. Exports from Freedom24, Trading 212, Interactive Brokers (Flex), DEGIRO, eToro, Revolut, Trade Republic, Freetrade, XTB, Saxo, Schwab, Swissquote and Avanza are read directly. Other statements go through the extraction model, and everything is shown for review before it is confirmed.

Does Borderfolio replace existing adviser software?

No. It is not a CRM, a custody platform, a trading system or a financial-planning suite. It sits alongside them for one job: turning brokerage statements into a consolidated, reviewed picture of a client's investments and a report you can stand behind.

What cross-border analysis is available?

Fund domicile from the ISIN; currency exposure by listing; US-situs holdings against the non-resident estate-tax threshold in USD; US-source dividend withholding at the residence's treaty rate, or the statutory rate without a W-8BEN; catalogued Irish UCITS counterparts for US funds, with expense ratios on both sides; and a planned-relocation comparison.

What is not modelled is stated: only US-source withholding; the client is treated as a non-resident alien unless flagged, and US-person taxation is reported as unavailable; estate-tax treaties are not applied; capital-gains treatment on relocation is outside the screen.

Can advisers generate client reports?

Yes. A portfolio review is generated as a PDF from a stored snapshot, with the firm's name on every report and logo and contact block on the Practice plan. Your own commentary is stored with the snapshot and printed in a section labelled as adviser-authored. A report never changes after it is generated; a later review is a new report.

How is client information protected?

Each client belongs to one organisation, and every request is authorised against your membership; identifiers you send are loaded scoped to your organisation. Two-factor sign-in with recovery codes can be required firm-wide. Uploaded files are checked against their declared type, original statements are purged after seven days, and sensitive actions are recorded in an audit trail. Read the full description.

How does early access work?

Tell us about your firm and clients using the form above. We reply personally within two working days, set up your organisation, and agree pilot terms on request. There is no card and no commitment at this stage; plans and standard pricing will be published when the programme ends.
