Borderfolio for Advisors documentation

How the workspace works, screen by screen, and where its calculations stop. Every page describes the product as built. Nothing here is tax, legal or investment advice; the product is decision support for professional advisers.

The workflow

A review in Borderfolio for Advisors follows the same sequence for every client. Each step has its own page.

  1. Set up the firm's workspace, invite colleagues and turn on two-step sign-in.
  2. Add a client and record the tax profile the cross-border figures rest on.
  3. Import brokerage statements into the client's accounts, then review and confirm what was extracted.
  4. Read the consolidated portfolio: value, allocation, income and performance across accounts.
  5. Work through the cross-border findings and, for a client who plans to move, the relocation file.
  6. Optionally prepare a current-versus-proposed review without touching actual holdings.
  7. Generate the report: a PDF stored as a snapshot, with your commentary kept apart from the system's analysis.

Principles that run through the product

Unknown is not zero
A figure the engine cannot compute is shown as unavailable, with the reason. A consolidated total is withheld if one holding cannot be priced, rather than printed as if it were complete.
Nothing is written without review
Extracted positions and transactions change a client's portfolio only after an adviser confirms them. Confirmed records are never silently overwritten.
Every estimate names its assumption
Cross-border figures carry their source, their confidence and what they do not cover. Unsupported situations are named as unsupported rather than approximated.
Your words stay yours
Adviser notes, regime summaries and review comments print in sections labelled as adviser-authored. The engine's output is never mixed into them.
Reports do not change
A report is generated once from a stored snapshot. Downloading it later renders the same document, whatever was imported since.

What the product is not

Borderfolio for Advisors is not a CRM, a custody or trading platform, or a financial-planning suite. It does not generate buy or sell recommendations and it does not execute anything. It sits alongside the systems a firm already uses and prepares the portfolio side of a client review.
